RESULTS
SACRAMENTO – The Grand Canyon women's golf team shot its best round of the tournament and finished in fifth place Tuesday at The Gunrock Invitational, hosted by UC Davis.
The Lopes came into the tournament with the seventh-best ranking in the 11-team field. Sacramento State won the event with an 859 total, followed by California, Coastal Carolina, UC Davis and GCU.
Sophomore
Siripatsorn Patchana led the Lopes with a fourth-place finish. Patchana fired rounds of 71, 71 and 74 for an even-par total of 216. Junior
Carolina Sandstrom was the next best GCU finisher in 22
nd place with a 224 total. Junior

Payton Fehringer (231) and sophomore
Alexis Linam (237) also each contributed to the Lopes' team score.
As a team, GCU edged out a pair of higher ranked squads in Cal Poly and Nevada.
The individual winner went to Corinne Viden of Sacramento State with a 208 total. She won by five shots over Cindy Oh of California.
GCU is back in action on March 11-12 at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.
