Building off last year's top-30 nationally ranked recruiting class, the Grand Canyon baseball program announced a recruiting class of 12 signees who will join the program for the 2021 season.
GCU's strong connection with local talent continued with seven players signing from Phoenix-area high schools. The Lopes also landed players from California, Texas and Wyoming.
"I have never been so excited about announcing a recruiting class," GCU head coach
Andy Stankiewicz said. "
Gregg Wallis, our recruiting coordinator, has worked tirelessly this year to secure what we believe could be our strongest recruiting class ever."
The 12 incoming Lopes include outfielder
Homer Bush Jr., infielder
Dustin Crenshaw, utility
Daniel Garcia, left-handed pitcher
Connor Markl, right-handed pitcher
Carson Ohl, right-handed pitcher
Zach Rogers, outfielder
Cade Verdusco, first baseman/left-handed pitcher
Bryan Webb, shortstop
Jacob Wilson, utility
Tyler Wilson, right-handed pitcher

The class includes seven position players, four pitchers and a two-way player. Of the five players who pitch, three are right-handed and two are left-handed.
"The 2020 class is very strong across the board," Stankiewicz said. "As per previous years, the bulk of our recruiting class is Arizona student-athletes, but we are excited to see our recruiting efforts reach Texas, California and Wyoming."
The class members will play their respective high school seasons this spring before enrolling at GCU in August with an opportunity to officially take the field in February 2021.
"These young men are winners on the field, in the classroom and in the community," Stankiewicz said. "We look forward to them continuing their winning ways here at GCU."
