The Grand Canyon cross country teams will compete at the Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale, California, on Saturday to wrap up their regular season before the WAC Championships.
.
The race, hosted by Santa Clara, will start at 8:45 a.m. at Baylands Park.
Returning to Northern California after last competing at the Capital Cross Challenge in Sacramento two weeks ago, the teams are eager to continue making strides at the upcoming meet.
The Capital Cross Challenge resulted in both teams placing in the top 10 as they faced 35 or more teams on the men's and women's sides. Lopes head coach
Sara Slattery acknowledged that the meet results showed her team was going in the right direction.
Last year at the Bronco Invitational, the women placed seventh and the men finished eighth. Top GCU finisher
Elizabeth Balsan looks to improve on her 21st-place finish in last year's race.
Following the Capital Cross Challenge, GCU will compete in the WAC Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, in Kansas City, Missouri.
