KAPOLEI, Oahu  – The Grand Canyon women's golf team placed a pair of Lopes in the top six at the rain-shortened Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Wednesday.
With heavy rains washing out the first 36 holes, sophomore
Siripatsorn Patchana and junior
Courtney Vogel each shot 1-under-par rounds of 71 to finish in a tie for sixth place.
As a team, the Lopes finished eighth in the 12-team event. Florida International won the championship with a team score of 287 (1 under par). New Mexico State (288), Nebraska (289), Sacramento State (290) and Hawaii (294) rounded out the top five.
Also scoring for the Lopes was freshman
Payton Fehringer (79), junior
Carolina Sandstrom (80) and sophomore
Alexis Linam (82).
GCU's fall season came to a close with a pair of top-three finishes in four fall tournaments. The spring season tees off in February in California.
