The Grand Canyon women's volleyball team won a five-set thriller over CSU Bakersfield 25-13, 29-27, 16-25, 20-25, 15-12 on Thursday night in GCU Arena.
"We've been talking about how we've been close a lot of times, how it's just a play here, play there, execution on our side that we had to clean up and get a little better and the girls really came out in that first set focused and kind of set the tone for the match," GCU head coach
Tim Nollan said. "Give credit to Bakersfield, they responded. Super tight second set at 29-27. We ended up kind of stealing that one at the end. Third and fourth set, got to give them a lot of credit, they played well. We persevered in the fifth and stayed true to our mantra of keep fighting. Keep getting a little better each play and keep fighting. I was really happy with the girls."
