DENVER – Senior goalkeeper
Blakely Fraasch is this week's Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, announced Monday by the conference office. Fraasch helped the Lopes (3-3) to an undefeated two-game road series in Flagstaff, Arizona, with a pair of back-to-back shutouts.

In the first contest at Max Spilsbury Field, Fraasch made six saves and saw 10 shots in the 2-0 victory over Nevada. The win was the first shutout of 2017 for the senior.
Fraasch kept the momentum going for Sunday's 1-0 victory over Detroit Mercy, as the keeper made three saves and saw five shots over the 90 minute contest.
A now four-time WAC Defensive Player of the Week honoree, Fraasch has made 17 saves on the year and holds a goals-against average of 0.66.
Fraasch and the Grand Canyon women's soccer team returns to GCU Soccer Stadium on Thursday, September 7 to host UC Santa Barbara. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. (MST).
