PHOENIX, Ariz. – With one final test remaining before the Grand Canyon women's soccer team begins Western Athletic Conference play, the Lopes (3-6-1, 0-0 WAC) will head to Los Angeles looking to snap a three-game losing streak and end non-conference play on a high note.
GCU will face Cal State Northridge on Friday night at 7 p.m. before heading to Cal State Fullerton to play the Titans on Sunday night at 5 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on BigWest.TV and live stats will be available.
The Lopes offense has been active over the last four games, as GCU leads the WAC in shots with 159.
Scouting CSU-Northridge
The Lopes hold a 1-0 all-time record with the Matadors (3-2-4, 0-0 Big West).
CSUN began the year with a pair of 1-1 ties to #24 Long Beach State and Pacific. The Matadors then defeated both Houston and Utah Valley before tying Fresno State and #16 Colorado.
CSUN suffered its first loss Washington State and its second to Texas Tech, but was victorious against Eastern Washington between the two.
Last season, the Matadors were 11-5-5 but lost to Long Beach State in the semifinal of the Big West Tournament.
Scouting CSU-Fullerton
The Titans (5-1-2, 0-0 Big West) and the Lopes meet for the first time in the history of both programs this weekend.
Fullerton began the year with a pair of victories over WAC member Seattle and Fresno State. The Titans then tied both BYU and Utah State. Since then, the Titans have been 3-1, defeating St. Mary's, Iowa State and Utah Valley. CSU-Fullerton lost to Utah, 2-1.
Last season, the Titans were 8-10-1. They faced UC Irvine in the first round of the Big West Tournament and came to a 1-1 decision after double overtime, but were eliminated with penalty kicks to end the season.
