PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Grand Canyon women's basketball team looks to get back on track this weekend after losing its second-straight game on Thursday night and falling to 2-7 on the year. The Lopes were edged, 65-63, at the GCU Arena by Long Beach State - GCU will now head out on its final two-game road trip of the 2017 portion of the season. The Lopes face Pac-12 member Washington on Sunday before traveling up I-17 to face Northern Arizona on Thursday, Dec. 14.
Last season, the Lopes fell to Washington, 101-66, as they look to even up the all-time series this weekend. Redshirt senior transfer
Jordan Jackson netted a career-best 21 points on Thursday night at the GCU Arena, while fellow senior
Brie Mobley had her second double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Scouting Washington
Washington is 4-4 on the year, as the Huskies recently lost at Boise State to break a two-game winning streak. UW has wins over BYU, Creighton, Idaho and Portland and losses to Boise State, #2 Texas, #9 Ohio State and Idaho State.
Last season, the Huskies finished with an impressive 29-6 overall record and 15-3 in the Pac-12. UW lost to Oregon in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament, 70-69, but earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Washington defeated Montana State and Oklahoma to advance to the Oklahoma City Regional semifinal, but fell to Mississippi State, 75-64, to end the 2016-17 campaign.
Head coach Jody Wynn is in the first year at the helm of the UW program and is the 11th head coach in Washington women's basketball history.
