PHOENIX, Ariz. – The pair of
McKenzie Cook and
Blakely Fraasch were named First Team All-WAC, announced Tuesday night by the Western Athletic Conference office at the 2017 WAC women's soccer banquet. The announcement was made ahead of the 2017 WAC Tournament, hosted Nov. 1-5 by GCU at the GCU Soccer Stadium.

Cook and Fraasch become the second and third first team nominees for the Lopes since beginning the transition to Division I, as
Maria Monterroso received first team recognition in 2014.
A native of Silverdale, Washington, Cook started all 19 regular season contests for the Lopes. A junior and foot skills master, Cook was impressive at attacking midfielder and forward throughout the year, leading the Lopes with 11 points on the year from three goals and five assists. She leads GCU with 67 shots on the season, 30 of which were on frame.
Cook led the Lopes in WAC play with seven points from two goals and three assists. She fired 29 shots, 12 of them on goal. Cook is a two-time Second Team All-WAC recipient from her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Hailing from Prior Lake, Minnesota, Fraasch started all 19 games for GCU this season, competing in a total of 1,722 minutes and 27 seconds. She made a total of 76 saves on the year and tallied four shutouts, two in conference play.
In seven WAC matches, Fraasch allowed just five goals and recorded a 0.73 goals-against average and a 0.853 save percentage. Fraasch was the 2014 WAC Freshman of the Year and was a 2016 All-WAC Second Team honoree.
Cook, Fraasch and the rest of the sixth-seeded GCU women's soccer team opens the 2017 WAC Tournament on Wednesday when they host No. 3 UTRGV in a 7 p.m. showdown match. The winner advances to face #2 Utah Valley on Friday at 7 p.m.
