The Grand Canyon women's basketball team will continue its road swing at Rice on Tuesday, Nov. 22 as they head to Houston, Texas. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. MST.

The Lopes look to bounce back from suffering their first loss of the season at Duke and pick up their first road victory of the year.Â
Last Time OutÂ
The Grand Canyon women's basketball program suffered its first loss of the season at the hands of Duke in a 90-47 outcome in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Thursday night. The Lopes had a solid first quarter shooting 43 percent from the field and kept Duke on its heels.
Marina Laramie scored eight of GCU's 17 points in the first grabbing three boards. Duke would go on to take command with a 23 point performance in the second that yielded a 14-0 run and shut down GCU's offense leaving the score at 25-17.

GCU remained determined in the third shooting 30.3 percent from the field and cutting the Duke lead to 66-35. Although the Lopes trailed by 30 in the first, GCU put together a 9-0 run led by Laramie's six points and a
Casey Rarrick three. Duke gave GCU all it could handle and solidified the victory in a 90-47 finish.

- Â On the young season, the Lopes have shot 34.5 percent from the 3-point line thus far and are currently averaging 9.4 treys per game.
- Marina Laramie produced the Lopes first double-double performance of the season netting 22 points with 12 rebounds on the night. She collected a personal best 12 rebounds and garnered her fifth double-double in two seasons against Duke.
- Laramie, Laura Marcos-Canedo and Rarrick are the three Lopes that sit atop the leader boards on the squad. Laramie leads the team in both points 32 with 16.0 points per game and rebounds with 19 and 9.5Â boards per game. Marcos-Canedo leads with 12 assists and 6.0 assists per game, while Rarrick leads the squad with seven 3-pointers with 3.5 threes per game.
- The Lopes fifth-year transfers continue to show their athleticism on the court and have combined for 58 points this season averaging 29.0 points per game as a unit.
- Women's basketball will host its first Lopes on the Road game on Tuesday at Rice. The program gives alumni around the country the opportunity to cheer on the Lopes. The events featured pregame tailgates and reception, allowing opportunities for attendees to meet and mingle with fellow Lopes.Â
Rice Notables
The Owls are currently 2-1 on the year with victories over Prairie View A&M (68-57) Houston Baptist (79-53), with their lone loss to LSU (66-55). Rice is currently averaging 67.3 points per game with a 8.7 scoring margin. Shani Rainey, currently leads the squad with 16.3 points per game and has collected two back-to-back 20 point performances including a 21 point night against LSU.

In their 79-53 victory over Houston Baptiste the Owls picked up their first road win of the season off a balanced offensive attack. With four players in double digits the Owls outscored HBU 31-12. They also held HBU to 30 percent shooting from the floor.

The pair will meet for the first time in program history this Friday.

GCU will return home to host the GCU Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 25-26 as they welcome Denver, Idaho and Illinois-Chicago to GCU Arena. The Lopes will play Denver on Friday, Nov. 25 at noon. GCU will conclude its homestand on Saturday Nov. 26 against Idaho. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. MST.Â
