PHOENIX – The Grand Canyon men's soccer team will look to get back to its winning ways this weekend on the road as they head out to California. The Antelopes will face Pacific and Cal State Fullerton in their final non-conference matches before they begin conference play.

Despite losing their first match in the month of September, the Lopes have won the most non-conference matches in three years and the most since being a member of Division I. In just five matches, Alberto Sanchez Garcia has scored three goals after scoring against Central Florida. Garcia is tied for seventh in the WAC with three goals but the senior has played the least amount of games in the WAC and he still remains first in the conference with 27 shots, averaging 5.40 shots per contest. The Lopes still continue to impress on the defensive side in the second half allowing just two goals in the second half this season.

All-Time Series RecordGrand Canyon plays Pacific for the third time in school history and the Lopes have a perfect 2-0-0 record against Pacific. GCU will look to get is first win ever against Cal State Fullerton as the Titans have a perfect 2-0-0 record over Grand Canyon.

Scouting PacificThe Tigers have struggled offensively this season scoring six goals in seven matches. The one match Pacific scored more than one goal this season was against San Jose State in a 3-0 victory over the Spartans. Gaku Lange and Brian Im lead Pacific with two goals apiece this season. Pacific has been on the offensive attack in the second half this season scoring five of its six goals in the second half this season including 44 shots compared to 23 in the first half. The Tigers have played two goalkeepers this season in Curtis Goldsmith and Josh Adachi. Receiving more time in goal this season is Adachi with a 2.15 goals against average with one shutout.

Scouting Cal State FullertonThe Lopes will face the Titans at home where they played exceptional soccer this season going 3-1 with victories over George Washington, San Francisco and Texas Rio Grande Valley. Cal State Fullerton has outscored its opponents 8-3 at home this season including three shutouts. Diego Sanchez leads Fullerton this season with three goals and seven points but scoring contributions from seven different players. The Titans have been stifling on defense this season allowing just eight goals with three shutouts. David Elias has played every minute goal for the Titans this season posting a 1.14 goals against average having to only come up with 19 saves. Fullerton has been deadly in the second half scoring nine of its 11 goals in the second half.Â
