Grand Canyon University senior
Brianne Kee has been named to the Capital One Academic All-American Track/Cross Country team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA). Kee was selected to the third team of the release.
"Bri is an incredibly talented student-athlete, both on the track and in the classroom" said head coach
Tom Flood. "This honor is well-deserved and reflects all the hard work and dedication she has shown throughout her career."
The Peoria, Ariz., native is pursuing her master's of business administration and currently boasts a 4.00 GPA. Kee finished her undergraduate degree in Finance and Economics with a 3.99 GPA.
Kee helped the GCU women capture the WAC indoor title last March and most recently led the Lopes to a runner-up finish at this year's WAC Outdoor Championships.
Kee, a product of Sunrise Mountain High School, capped off her standout career at GCU at the WAC Outdoor Championships, taking home the conference long jump title after recording a leap of 5.93 meters. She also finished fifth in the triple jump and seventh in the 100-meter dash at the championships.
In 2013, Kee was named Capital One Academic All-District and was an All-American in the long jump.
"She was the first student-athlete to achieve a national qualifying mark for our track and field program five years ago and this award is a fitting final tribute to all that she has achieved during her career at GCU," added Flood.
