Grand Canyon's
Josh Ralston and
Jude Olear have been named the Western Athletic Conference men's track and field Athletes of the Week.
This is the first honor of the season for all three of the Antelopes.
Ralston raced to a pair of first place finishes at the Air Force Team Challenge Friday. Ralston ran the fastest time in the conference in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 21.75 seconds. He also won the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in a time of 47.91 seconds.
Olear turned in a pair of second-place finishes in the long jump and triple jump Friday at the Air Force Team Challenge. Olear recorded a distance of 6.91 meters (fourth-best in the WAC) in the long jump and 14.46 meters in the triple jump to lead the Grand Canyon charge in the field events. Olear's mark in the triple jump is the second-best in the conference this season.
The Lopes will next travel to Flagstaff for the two-day NAU Invitational, which will get underway on Friday. Fans can find more information on the track and field season at
