Box Score (PDF)PHOENIX – The Grand Canyon women's soccer team closed out its 2015 season at home against CSU Bakersfield. The Antelopes honored their four seniors Daryl Bradley, Cassie Beckwith, Martinne Gjennestad and Kelsie Roberts and in the final match of the season, the Lopes battled the Roadrunners to a 0-0 tie at GCU Soccer Field.

It was a slow first half as both teams looked to find a rhythm offensively as the two teams both attempted five shots in the first half. GCU's best opportunity came in the final minute before halftime, when Rebecca Pousma subbed in and was able to fire off a shot inside the box but Bakersfield's goalkeeper Tori Ornela came up with a diving save to go into halftime scoreless. Making her first start of the season was Bradley on senior night as she led the forwards to start the match.

In the second half, the pace of play picked up and the Roadrunners looked to take the lead in the 61
st minute when Madi Giammona placed a shot on goal from eight-yards inside the box but Blakely Fraasch came up with a diving save to keep the score at 0-0 with just under thirty minutes left in regulation. Bakersfield again came close to scoring in the 70
th minute off a free header right in front of goal but Aminah Settles attempt went right over the crossbar.

Pousma came close to giving GCU the lead in the 81
st minute with a header inside the box but Ornela came up with a save to take the match into overtime. Each team attempted just one shot in the first overtime and in the second overtime both teams held each other at bay to result in a 0-0 tie.

The Antelopes end the season with a 7-9-3 record along with an exceptional 6-2-2 record at GCU Soccer Field. The Lopes finish with 4-4-2 record in conference and will end the season in fourth place in the WAC.Â
