PHOENIX – The Grand Canyon men's soccer team face its toughest weekend in the conference as the top two teams from the WAC visit Phoenix. The Antelopes will open the weekend of play against Utah Valley, under the Friday Night Lights. The Lopes will then wrap up the weekend squaring off against Seattle, the 24
th ranked team in the country.

The Lopes are coming off a win/loss against Incarnate Word for their third straight match on the road within the conference. After being ranked as No. 8 in the NSCAA West Region, GCU hit a minor bump in the road dropping two straight WAC matches but GCU was able to rebound

All-Time Series RecordGCU and Utah Valley will meet for the third time in school history. The Wolverines have never lost to GCU, going 1-1-0 since facing GCU in the WAC. The Lopes will face off against Seattle for the 12
th time as GCU holds an all-time record of 4-7 against the Redhawks.

Scouting Utah ValleyThe Wolverines have had an outstanding season and have received national recognition being ranked as high as No. 23 in the country at one point. Defense has been the key for UVU this season, allowing 0.68 goals per match. Goalkeepers Collin Partee and Derek Wilcox each have three shutouts this season but receiving more playing time in goal for the Wolverines has been Partee, with a 0.73 goals against average. Aaron Meyer, Karson Payton, Paul Hoffmeister and Austin Buxtoneach have scored four goals this season for Utah Valley but Meyer leads the team with 14 points, adding six assists. Nine different players have scored 23 goals for the Wolverines this season as the team averages 1.77 goals per contest.

Scouting SeattleThe Redhawks have been just as impressive on the road as they have been at home this season, with a 3-1 record on the road. Seattle is currently ranked No. 24 in the country and made some noise after a 2-1 win over No. 10Â Washington. Hamza Haddadi leads Seattle this season in goals with eight and is tied for a team-high 14 points along with Michael Roberts with seven goals and four assists. Seattle has been an offensive juggernaut this year, averaging 2.15 goals per contest while only allowing 0.77 goals per match. Shane Haworth has played the majority of minutes in goal for Seattle posting a 0.70 goals against average including five shutouts.Â
