SEATTLE, Wash. – The Grand Canyon University women's volleyball team (2-12, 0-2) was defeated by the current Western Athletic Conference leader, Seattle U (11-5, 3-0), in a three-set match.
Grand Canyon battled throughout the match, recording set scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-20.
"The loss tonight was extremely frustrating," said head coach Kris Naber. "We were in each set until the last five points and then made controllable errors."
Sophomore
Natalie Tardy had 11 kills off of 28 attempts (.214), taking her season total to 150 kills for a 3.26 kills per set average. Redshirt-sophomore

Megan Byrnes each assisted on five blocks.
Michelle Steagall added 19 assists to her tally, for a total of 379. She averages 7.9 assists per set.
"We're proud of this group and the progress they have made in the last couple of weeks, however, it's time for us to get over the hump," continued Naber. "We stand behind these girls and believe they can turn the corner and look to get started at the next opportunity."
GCU earned more block assists than Seattle U (15-10) to earn a total of 7.5 team blocks during the match. The Lopes tallied a .265 hitting percentage in the opening set—their highest of the game. In the set, there were seven ties and three lead changes.
