Grand Canyon men's tennis saw their five-match winning streak snapped today after falling to Nevada, 6-1, at the Caughlin Club in Reno, Nev. The Wolf Pack swept the Antelopes, 7-0, on Feb. 17 in Glendale, Ariz.
GCU now stands at 7-4 on the season, Nevada improved to 8-2.
Grand Canyon dropped the doubles point, but did secure one of the three matches, as
Benjamin Collomb and
Alexander Roggenkamp won 8-6 at No.2 doubles. The pair are now 8-2 this season.
The Antelopes notched a win in the singles as
Adrian Legarreta used a 10-8 third set match tiebreaker to improve his singles record to 6-5. Legarreta won the opening set 6-4, while dropping the second by the same score.
Nicolas Moulin was unable to pull off the win at No.1 singles, but forced the opening set into a tiebreaker, falling 11-9.
Ahmad Saleem was also competive this afternoon, dropping a hard fought 5-7, 5-7 contest.
GCU will be back in action on March 17 when they make the short drive up I-17 to face Northern Arizona in Flagstaff. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
