The NCAA today announced the field of student-athletes selected to participate in the Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, hosted by the University of Colorado – Pueblo on May 23-25 in Pueblo, Colo. A total of 754 participants (377 men and 377 women) are slated to compete in the championships after reaching automatic and provisional standards for each event.
The Grand Canyon University men's and women's squads were well represented on the list, picking up 16 individual entries and two relay entries on the women's side, and 15 individual entries and two relay entries for the men.
Shavine Hodges and
Petra Fanty lead the way for the women with four events apiece. Hodges is slated to compete in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, as well as the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay. Fanty will run in the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes as well as the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay.
Samantha Bogatz will compete in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and the 4x100-meter relay.
Brianne Kee (long jump and 4x100-meter relay) and
Amber Yingling (long jump and triple jump) will each compete in two events for GCU.
Jennifer Dowty (4x400-meter relay),
Lauren Graham (pole vault),
Amy Hop (pole vault),
Maria Kropf (100-meter hurdles),
Vanessa Levy (discus throw),
Amanda Sims (400-meter hurdles), and
Jessica Yates (triple jump) also were selected for their respective events.
Ramon Cooper,
Dario Horvat, and
Fred Taylor were each selected to participate in three events for the 'Lopes. Cooper will be in action in the 400-meter hurdles, long jump, and 4x400-meter relay. Horvat and Taylor will run in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes as well as the 4x100-meter relay.
Stephan Bullard is slated to compete in the 800-meter run and 4x400-meter relay. Joining him with two events is
Kevin Lashley in the long jump and triple jump,
Lance Parker in the 200-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay, and
Oliver Smith in the 400-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay.

AAron Hill (long jump),
Carl Houston (4x100-meter relay),
Josh Ralston (4x400-meter relay), and
Tyler Sipes (110-meter hurdles) will also compete in their respective events.
