The Grand Canyon University women’s tennis team cruised to a 9-0 win over Dixie State today at the Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale, Ariz.
The 14
th-ranked Antelopes improved to 6-1, the Red Storm fell to 2-6.
GCU won every set today and only dropped 17 games in the nine matches.
Priscilla Annoual picked up a pair of wins today, winning 6-0, 6-0 in her No. 1 singles match and teamed with
Justine Majan to win 8-1 in doubles play.
Kaila Knopf, Taylor Young and
Pauline Emin all won in straight sets, their first victories of the season.
“The girls played a great match today and were a little beat up after a tough match yesterday,” said head coach Greg Prudhomme. “They did a great job getting physically and mentally ready to win the match today. We received great performances from Taylor, Kaila and Pauline.”
GCU will get the day off tomorrow and will return to action on Monday where they will face Dominican at 9 a.m. That match will be played at Paseo.
