The Grand Canyon University women’s team dropped a 5-0 decision to Hawai’i Pacific in the PacWest Championship semifinals today at the Marlin Tennis Club in San Rafael, Calif.
The loss drops the Antelopes into the third-place match where they will face Academy of Art tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. at the Marlin Tennis Club. The matches can be viewed live by following this

HPU, ranked No. 5 in the nation and No.2 in the tournament, will advance to the championship round to face the nation’s No. 1 and undefeated BYU-Hawai’i.
Today’s sweep by the Sea Warriors began with three wins in the doubles round.
Justine Majan and
Cecilia Vergnet put up the toughest battle at No. 3 doubles, falling 8-6.
Hawai’i Pacific was able to win in straight sets at No. 4 and 6 singles to end the match and advance to the finals.
Grand Canyon will now set its focus on Academy of Art, a squad they downed 9-0 on Feb. 10 at the Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale, Ariz. GCU currently is holding on to the all-important third position in the NCAA West Region (BYU-Hawai’i is No. 1 and HPU No. 2). The top three teams in the region will qualify for the NCAA Postseason with the No. 3 seed traveling to face the No. 2 seed in the opening round.
