Grand Canyon, ranked no. 16 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division II Top 25 poll, defeated visiting Arizona Christian 3-0 at Antelope Gymnasium Tuesday.
GCU won by set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-20.
The Antelopes improved to 18-3 overall and are 9-0 all-time against ACU, an NAIA and NCCAA school located in Phoenix.

Hayleigh Friemoth had nine kills each. Junior outside hitter
Kaitlynn Ausmus and senior right side hitter
Sydney McDowell both had eight. Muys added four blocks, including two solos, and two service aces.
GCU hit .262 as a team. Leading the way was Friemoth with a .643 average (9-0-14). She had six kills on nine attempts in the second set. Muys hit .333 (9-3-18). The Antelopes held the Firestorm to a .009 attack percentage.

Mackenzie Phelps had 15 digs. Junior setter
Jessica Posse had 10 assists and seven digs. Senior defensive specialist
Sara Bowden added seven digs.
“We had great energy from the entire ballclub and a lot of players had a hand in the win,” said GCU coach Kris Naber. “It was a fun atmosphere with the GCU fans and their school spirit and support.”
GCU plays host to Point Loma 3 p.m. Saturday.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, donations will be taken at the gate for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Also pink t-shirts, being sold for $10 apiece, will be available with all proceeds going to the Komen Foundation. The team will play, for the first time, in pink uniforms.
