In a battle between two of the top teams in the Pacific West Conference, Grand Canyon (15-6, 8-4) plays host to Hawai’i Pacific (11-7, 6-3) 6 p.m. Saturday at Antelope Gymnasium.
GCU beat HPU 3-1 in September and goes into the contest with a seven-match winning streak. GCU is tied for second place in the conference with Dixie State, two games out of first place. Hawai’i Pacific is 2.5 games out of first place.
The teams combined for 199 digs in the match won by the ’Lopes by set scores of 25-20, 18-25, 25-23, 25-23.
It will be Breast Cancer Awareness Night and donations for breast cancer research will be taken at the gate.
