Grand Canyon dropped to 10-16 overall and 5-9 in the Pacific West Conference with a 3-0 loss to BYU-Hawai'i at the Cannon Activities Center in Laie, Hawaii Tuesday.
GCU lost by set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 26-24.
It was the final match of a four-match trip to Hawai'i. GCU will be off until a Nov. 2 match at Western New Mexico and will finish the season with home conference contests at Antelope Gymnasium Nov. 12-13 against Dixie State.
Back-to-back kills from senior outside hitter
Megan Toth (Phoenix, AZ, Arcadia) tied the first set, 5-5, but the Seasiders scored the next three points and led the rest of the way. In the second set, the Antelopes got solid play off the bench from junior hitter
Brooke Blomenkamp (Gering, NE, Gering, Western Nebraska CC), who hit .429 with three kills and one service ace.
In the third set, GCU rallied twice but was unable to get over the hump.

Kristen Preach (Phoenix, AZ, Xavier Prep) had a kill and sophomore outside hitter
Erica Ehlo (Spokane, WA, Lewis and Clark) and senior middle hitter
Tommyka Henry (Phoenix, AZ, Alhambra, Mesa Community College) combined on a block. Two points came on BYU-Hawai'i attack errors.
At 24-21, GCU fought off three match points with two kills from sophomore middle hitter
Shelby Taylor (Phoenix, AZ, Christian) and a combo block from Taylor and Preach.
Junior libero
Laurann Durbin (Phoenix, AZ, Sunnyslope) had 21 digs. Ehlo added 14. Taylor led in kills with nine and block assists with four. In two games, Blomenkamp had seven and a .429 attack percentage. Preach had 24 assists and three block assists.
BYU improved to 12-6 overall and 9-2 in the PacWest. Losaline Faka'osi had 14 kills and 15 digs.
