Grand Canyon dropped a 3-0 decision to Western New Mexico in Silver City, N.M. Tuesday.
It was the final road and non-conference contest for the Antelopes. They lost by set scores of 25-11, 25-23, 25-17.
Senior outside hitter Megan Toth (Phoenix, AZ, Arcadia) had a team-high nine kills and a .261 hitting percentage. Freshman Kaitlynn Ausmus (Glendale, AZ, Deer Valley) had seven kills.
Junior libero Laurann Durbin (Phoenix, AZ, Sunnyslope) had a team-best 11 digs. Freshman setter Jessica Posse (Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Rancho Cucamonga) had 29 assists and seven digs.
GCU (10-17) finishes the season with contests against Pacific West Conference foe Dixie State Nov. 12-13. The Nov. 12 match will be Senior Night. GCU will honor its two seniors, Toth and middle hitter Tommyka Henry (Phoenix, AZ, Alhambra, Mesa Community College).
