Lady Lopes take 5th at PacWest Championships

Grand Canyon women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches on its way to beating Dixie State College 5-2 to place fifth at the Pacific West Conference Championships in St. George, Utah.
GCU's Marie-Caroline Legros and Stefanie Griffin beat Ashley Lafeen and Brittny Roemer 8-6 at No. 1 doubles. Stephanie Haldeman and Sheila Johnson defeated Rebecca Wright and Annie Salmon 8-2 at No. 2 pairs. Amanda Jackson and Emily Rios teammed up to beat Lydia Hays and Ashley Johnson 8-4 at No. 3.
Haldeman beat Salmon 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles, and Johnson beat Roemer 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 to secure the match-clinching two wins. Johnson (pictured) improved to 11-6 in singles play.
