FLAGSTAFF -- Freshman Chris Lewis (pictured) placed 37th at the Northern Arizona University George Kyte Classic at Buffalo Park Saturday.
In the rain, Lewis finished the 8K race in 28:34.5. Unattached Diego Estrada won the event in 24:57.6. GCU was 7th in the 10-team field. NAU won the event.
Following Lewis, redshirt freshman Julio Zuniga, an Arizona State transfer, placed 48th in 29:25.4.
Sophomores Andrew Zappala (29:57.8) and Nick Cross (30:16.5) were 57th and 60th respectively.
Senior Miles Lindsay was 73rd (31:47.6). He was followed by T.J. McClarty (83rd - 33:04.0), Daniel Ontiveros (89th - 34:46.9) and Luke Larm (93rd - 37:55.1).
