Grand Canyon dominates HPU; finish 3-1 on Hawaii trip

The Antelopes won by set scores 25-17, 25-19, 25-21. They finished the four-match Hawaii swing with a 3-1 record, their best road mark since joining forces with the islanders in the Pacific West Conference.
For the second straight match, senior Dana Edington (Peoria, Ariz./Centennial) led GCU in kills with 11 (.320). She also had two block assists. Junior Tommyka Henry (Phoenix, Ariz./Alhambra/Mesa CC) had seven kills (.417).
Freshman setter Kristen Preach (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) had 28 assists, six kills (.357) and nine digs. Junior Megan Toth (Phoenix, Ariz./Arcadia) had seven kills and 10 digs.
Sophomore Laurann Durbin (Phoenix, Ariz./Sunnyslope) had 15 digs. Senior Vicky Bauler (Phoenix, Ariz./Agua Fria) had nine digs and freshman Erin Compton (pictured, Billings, Mont./West) had seven digs. Freshman Katie Peterson (Glendale, Ariz./Mountain Ridge) had five kills and two block assists, while senior Whitney Estes (Gardnerville, Nev./Douglas) had five kills.
