Grant White joins the Lopes for his final season of eligibilty in 2015-16. He previously competed two seasons at Jacksonville State as well as one year at Palm Beach State College.
At Jacksonville State White started a total of 26 games between his two seasons with the Gamecocks, including 13 games in 2013-14 and 13 games in 2011-12. During his junior campaign, he averaged 13.6 minutes per game while adding 3.6 points, 1.0 assist and 1.0 rebound per contest. His numbers were nearly identical as his freshman season, when he added 3.7 ppg and 1.0 apg.
At Palm Beach State College White transferred to Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth, Fla., for his sophomore season and started all 32 games. He led the squad with 3.0 assists per game, including a season-best 10 assists vs. Indian River, and averaged 5.1 points while shooting 45 percent from the floor and 37 percent from 3-point range. White guided the Panthers to a 29-3 record.
High School White played four seasons for head coach Antone at Monroe County High School in Monroeville, Ala. He was the Tigers’ MVP as a junior and a senior and earned first team all-district and all-region honors while being chosen second-team all-state. White was named the Monroe County Player of the Year after averaging 22 points, six assists and four rebounds and was selected to participate in the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s North/South All-Star Game. He also lettered in football, baseball and track, and was an honors student at MCHS. White also played one season (2010-11) at Mack Prep Academy in North Carolina, as he averaged 13 points and seven assists.
Personal White was born Oct. 8, 1991 and is the son of Willie and Janice White, and has an older sister, Candace. His undergraduate major was computer science.
