Tom Hurdle, a native of Knaresborough, England, came to the United States in August of 2007 to compete collegiately in the sport of soccer. After completing two years at Barton County Community College in Kansas, he transferred to Grand Canyon to compete athletically and complete his bachelor’s degree.
In his collegiate athletic career he compiled 67 wins, 9 losses and 5 ties while collecting 4 conference titles in 4 seasons.
Hurdle currently serves as the Graduate Assistant Coach for the men’s soccer program at Grand Canyon while also working towards his dual master’s degree. Hurdle is also involved with youth soccer in the Phoenix area and conducts speed development sessions with young athletes.
Hurdle has been part of the Performance Athletic Team at Grand Canyon since its introduction three years ago. He has assisted lead performance coaches in men’s soccer, basketball, volleyball, golf, and tennis, and women’s soccer, basketball, volleyball, and golf.
Hurdle is also a lead assistant for corporate health development on campus working with daily boot camps and wellness directed towards students, faculty and staff.
Hurdle currently holds several positions alongside assisting in the Performance Athletic Center.
To date, Hurdle holds a BTEC National Certificate in Sport and Personal Training, the FA Level One and Two Coaching Certificates and the USSF E License.
