Judd Easterling begins his first season as associate head coach of the Grand Canyon men's golf team following his hiring in July 2026.
Easterling joins GCU after seven seasons as head coach of Wichita State. There, he led the Shockers to six top five finishes in 2025-26 and guided Jose Miguel Ramirez to a school record 71.07 single season scoring average. Miguel Ramirez also placed runner-up at the 2025 AAC Championship, the highest finish of any Shocker in program history.
In 2023-24, Easterling led Wichita State to its best program finish at the AAC Championships, placing third while setting team records for best single-round team score (278), best 18-hole start (279, 2nd place) and best 36-hole start (573, 3rd place). He also coached Michael Winslow to AAC All-Conference honors that same season.
Easterling was elevated to head coach in 2019-20 after three years as associate head coach (2017-19) and one season as assistant (2016-17) under the legendary Grier Jones. In that first year with the Shockers, he helped guide them to the MVC team title and an NCAA Regional berth.
The move to head coach was a full circle moment for Easterling, who starred at Wichita State as a player from 2001-2005. In that time span, he was named a 2x PING Honorable Mention All-American, 4x All-Missouri Valley Conference recipient, 3x NCAA Championship qualifier, one of 20 golfers named on the MVC All-Centennial Team (1908-2007) and a three year captain.
He finished his career winning five individual titles with 15 top-five showings and 24 top-10 placements. He also tied for 10th at the 2004 National Championship.
Prior to Wichita State, Easterling was an assistant coach at Arizona State from 2015-16, helping guide the Sun Devils to the 2016 NCAA Albuquerque Regional Title and a claim of ninth place at the NCAA Championship. There, he coached senior John Rahm to a tie for third nationally at the National Championship, who earned a plethora of awards including consensus First Team All-American, the Pac-12 Individual Title, the Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan awards and led the NCAA in stroke average (69.41) while earning college golf's National Player of the Year award.
Easterling's first assistant coach job began at Missouri from 2013-15 where he became the program's first-ever full-time assistant. In his first season, the Tigers advanced to the NCAA Championship for the first time in nine years after finishing third at NCAA Regionals. Emilio Cuartero (third team) and Ryan Zech (honorable mention) each earned 2014 PING All-American honors while the pair placed in the top 15 at the Columbia Regional.
