Why did you choose GCU? GCU was down the street and heard of cheer tryouts so was unsure if I should do it since I was new to the sport. It was the best decision I made GCU gave me an opportunity and will forever be grateful for GCU has done for me.
Favorite part of being a Lope? After five years attending this school I will say the best feeling and experience is the fans. I have so much energy and passion to make people smile so when I perform to get the crowd popped-up for basketball games has to be hands down the best feeling.
What you love most about cheering at GCU? GCU is a school of servant leaders and going out of the way to make people feel loved and important. Not only do we serve our school but also serve our community, which has to be why I love cheering. It’s not just about performing it’s about making a difference in people’s lives and I love that about GCU.
One word to describe you:
On the mat – Motivating
Off the mat – Passionate
Who is the most influential person in your life? The person that has been there since day one has to be the most influential person in my life, which is my mother. She’s the kindest person you will ever meet for example she has given a roof, money, and food to those who have fallen at their worst and will never ask for anything in return. Showed me to always give back regardless if it’s tough those people come to you for a reason.
What is one thing most people would be surprised to know about you? Most people will be surprised Favorite Bible Verse or Quote: “Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.” -Muhammad Ali
What advice would you give to someone who dreams of becoming a GCU Cheerleader? Something I didn’t know then but have learned over the years being on this team is, BE YOURSELF. No one will remember the cool stunts you did at a game, at tryouts, or at nationals. What people will remember is who you are as a person on the matt and outside the matt. Just be yourself and stay true to who you are and own it every second of it.
