GCU is ranked in the Top 25 across most major softball polls. (25 in ESPN/USA Softball, 20 in NFCA, & 23 in D1Softball.) They have the fourth-best best record and winning percentage in the nation.
The Lopes hold a two-game lead on the entire Mountain West, with Nevada in second place at 8-4.
The Lopes are No. 29 in the most recent RPI, with the program's highest ranking coming in at No. 27 last week.
Graduate left fielder Trinity Martin is riding a hot streak at the plate over the last three weeks of conference play, hitting eight home runs and driving in 21 runs. Martin began the San José State series 7/7 with 4 HR. She had a six-RBI game in game two at Utah State, and drove in six of GCU's ten runs in the Nevada series.
Senior center fielder Sydney McCray has the most stolen bases in the nation without being caught (25/25), with the eighth-most swiped bags in the country.
GCU dropped its first series of the season, taking 1 of 3 at home against Nevada. The Lopes dropped to 10-2 in conference after starting 10-0.
