- The Lopes are unanimously ranked in the Top 25 across major softball polls. (22 in ESPN/USA Softball, 18 in Softball America, 17 in NFCA, & 18 in D1Softball.) They have the best record in the nation.Â
- Grand Canyon are the only undefeated team in the country after Tennessee and Alabama dropped their first games last week.
- Sophomore utility player Jada Cooper took home MW Player of the Week for week 6, after hitting a home run, driving in five runs behind a .444 average on the weekend. Cooper leads the team in home runs (7), RBI's (29), and on-base percentage (.510).
- Freshman second baseman Raegan Holtorf won MW Freshman of the Week for week 6, after hitting .444 herself at New Mexico. She earned a hit, run and RBI in all three games of the series. Holtorf leads the team in hits alongside senior lead off hitter Sydney McCray, at 31.
- Grand Canyon has won 31 straight games at GCU Softball Stadium, winning 49 of their last 51 games overall, dating back to last season.Â
SCOUTING OKLAHOMA STATE
- Oklahoma State is ranked a spot ahead of Grand Canyon at No. 21, coming off a series loss across town at Arizona State. The Cowgirls have ranked wins over Nebraska, UCLA, Texas A&M, and Georgia.
- The Cowgirls are hitting .292 with a 3.13Â ERA.Â
- Grand Canyon and Oklahoma State have never played before.
SCOUTING SAN JOSÉ STATE
- GCU is 2-1 all-time against SJSU, losing the last matchup at home in head coach Shanon Hays' first year at GCU.
