THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- THE HOMESTAND:Â GCU concludes the 2025 home schedule with a season-long nine-game homestand. Visitors during the 14-day stretch include three Big 12 foes (Arizona State, BYU, Arizona) and two WAC weekend visitors (UT Arlington, Sacramento State). It's the longest homestand since GCU hosted 13 consecutively in 2023.
Â
- LOPES VS. SUN DEVILS:Â The Lopes and Sun Devils play a brief two-game schedule of midweek matchups that finishes at Arizona State on May 13. The two programs resumed the series in 2021 with the sides splitting the two-game series in three of the four seasons. GCU and Arizona State have been meeting on the baseball diamond since 1953, the Lopes' inaugural season.
Â
- NONCON AT BRAZELL:Â GCU has enjoyed nonconference success on the home diamond in 2025. The Lopes enter their final three nonconference home games looking to improve on a 9-3 record. GCU dropped the home opener to Vanderbilt, but have since posted a win against Nebraska, three wins against Rutgers, a win against Pepperdine, a three-game sweep of Texas Tech and a win over Arizona.

SCOUTING ARIZONA STATE
Arizona State enters Tuesday's road test ranked among the top offenses in the country. The Sun Devils are batting .312 as a team, which ranks 24th nationally and third in the Big 12, and they average 10.8 hits per game — the highest in the conference and 14th in the NCAA. ASU also sits in the Big 12's top three for slugging percentage (.498), runs per game (8.3), and stolen bases (74).
Pitching has seen mixed results for the Sun Devils with a 5.52 ERA, but the staff's 10.8 strikeouts per game leads the Big 12 and ranks ninth nationally. ASU's defense ranks among the nation's best with a .981 fielding percentage — good for ninth in the country.
Arizona State lost back-to-back Big 12 series against Arizona and at Cincinnati before responding to take two of three from Texas Tech last weekend.
