Jess Drake ties Molly Shaw with 59 career wins

The No. 13 Grand Canyon beach volleyball team secured a decisive 4-1 victory over UAB on Saturday at GCU Beach Volleyball Stadium, winning four of five flights in a strong performance.

GCU set the tone early as Karynn Garrow and Sophia Hladyniuk cruised to a 21-15, 21-11 win in Flight 4. Katie Keefe and Rhea Kohl followed with a hard-fought comeback victory in Flight 2, rallying for a 21-23, 21-16, 15-12 win. Becca and Jessica Drake kept the momentum going with a commanding 21-17, 21-12 win in Flight 3, while Madi Bogle and Regan Holmer sealed the match for the Lopes with a 21-16, 21-13 triumph in Flight 5.

UAB earned its lone point in the final match of the day, as Olivia Stant and Jasmine Haas defeated Adriana Ferro and Ines Piret 21-15, 21-18 in Flight 1.

J. Drake tied professional Molly Shaw with 59 GCU career wins after going 3-0 on the weekend with her younger sister becca Drake.

GCU will next head to Honolulu to face Hawaii and Cal twice with potential implications on the MPSF Championships' seeding. The matches will take place on April 12th and 13th.
