The Grand Canyon men's volleyball team heads on teh road for the first time in six matches to face No. 3 USC Friday and Saturday at the Galen Center for two crucial Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matches.Â
Both matches will be streamed live on B1G+.
3 THINGS TO KNOW
- ANDERSON: Graduate opposite Jarrett Anderson had 18 kills, hitting .366, through 1-1 series split against No. 6 BYU to be named the MPSF player of the week. Anderson served eight aces, with six four coming consecutively in the set three comeback.Â
- HISTORY:Â The Lopes are 12-6Â all-time against USC with wins in the last 4 matches.Â
- GOOD TO BE BACK: The last time GCU played at USC was during the MPSFÂ Championships where it won three straight matches to win the program's first MPSF Championship.Â
SCOUTING
The Trojans have recorded double-digit blocks in half of their 18 matches, and Dillon Klein has reached double-digit kills in 14 matches, totaling 55 in his career. Klein leads the MPSF with 4.25 kills per set (6th in NCAA) and 4.86 points per set (9th in NCAA), while Caleb Blanchette leads the nation in assists with 11.41 per set.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Lopes will host UCLA in Phoenix April 4-5. The 5th will be the GCU senior day.
