EUGENE, Ore. — The Grand Canyon men's golf team finished middle of the pack at the Duck Invitational in Eugene, Oregon, placing seventh among 15 teams for its eighth consecutive top-10 finish this season.
GCU shot 7 over par for the tournament with a 4-over final round Tuesday. GCU was one of four nationally ranked teams in the Clippd Scoreboard Top 50, with No. 36 and host Oregon winning the tournament by one stroke over Wyoming at 8 under par.
GCU graduate
Tommaso Zorzetto jumped 18 spots from Monday's second-round conclusion to Tuesday's final hole, earning 14th at 1 under. Zorzetto carded a 3-under final round Tuesday with five birdies, totaling 11 for the tournament with at least three in each round played. He was exceptional on the back nine of the Eugene Country Club, combining to go 2 under in all three rounds combined.
Lopes senior
Kiko Coelho finished two shots behind Zorzetto at 1 over for 21st place. Coelho's only blemish was a bogey on the par-3 seventh hole, as he notched par on the other 17 holes. He finished the tournament with 39 pars, one shy of the overall tournament lead.
GCU freshman
Nixon Lauritzen carded a 2-over tournament and placed 25th, putting three Lopes in the top 25. Lauritzen sank 10 birdies for the tournament and shot 4 over Tuesday after consecutive 1-under rounds Monday.

Matthew Diehl, and senior teammate
Josh McCabe tied for 55th at 8 over, each registering 3-over cards in the final round. Diehl's par total reached 36 for the tournament, while McCabe had nine birdies, including eight over the last two rounds.
The Lopes finished third best in par-4 scoring (4.06 per hole) and tallied the second-most pars with 175.
GCU is back in action Monday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona, for the Cowboy Classic. The Lopes opened the season at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes with a second-place finish among eight teams.
