Grand Canyon continues its week in Oregon with a weekend in Corvallis. The Lopes will battle No. 8 Oregon State on Friday and Sunday, while taking on Santa Clara on Saturday afternoon.

3 THINGS TO KNOW
- MORE RANKED MATCHUPS:Â On the heels of a midweek series at No. 9 Oregon, more ranked matchups await for the Lopes against the No. 8 Beavers. GCU has been impressive in its recent meetings with top-25 foes, winning six of the last eight matchups. Those victories include wins against Arizona, Dallas Baptist, Nebraska and Oregon.
- CONTROL: GCU's pitching staff has exhibited tremendous control thus far in 2025. The Lopes' staff ranks sixth nationally in walks per nine innings (2.66) and 20th nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.20).
- BACK IN CORVALLIS:Â The Lopes return to Corvallis for the first time since 2022. In that visit, GCU split a midweek set with the then-No. 5 Beavers. On getaway day, the Lopes took a 13-7 finale one night after narrowly falling 8-7 to Oregon State. That midweek set proved to be a key part of GCU's eventual at-large resume for NCAA tournament selection.

SCOUTING OREGON STATE
Oregon State is off to a 12-3 start and ranked No. 8 nationally. The Beavers are the nation's only program playing as a Division I independent in baseball while the reformation of the Pac-12 is underway.
The Beavers went 45-16 a year ago and won the Corvallis Regional before losing in a super regional at Kentucky. Oregon State has made the last seven NCAA tournaments and has won three national championships in the last two decades.
The strength of this year's team to date is on the mound. Oregon State ranks No. 13 nationally with a 3.14 earned run average.

SCOUTING SANTA CLARA
The Broncos are an even 7-7 through 14 games with weekend series wins against CSUN and Cal and series losses to UC Davis and Texas.
Santa Clara was also an even .500 last year with a 26-26 overall record and 12-12 mark in West Coast Conference play.
The Broncos have struggled offensively to open the season with a .225 team average that ranks 274th nationally. They do feature a .972 fielding percentage that ranks in the nation's top 100.
