A native of Moreno Valley, California, San Antonio averaged 25.5 points and 5.0 assists per game in two GCU wins last week, helping the Lopes extend their nation-best active winning streak to 22 games.
On Thursday night, San Antonio scored 27 points with two assists and a 7-of-7 free throw clip in a 76-60 win over Tarleton State . The 27 points set her new season high and tied the single-game high of any Lopes player this season, joining Durazo-Frescas' 27 vs. Park (Aruzona) on Dec. 27.Â
On Saturday, San Antonio dished out eight assists, her ninth game with six or more assists this season, and tallied 24 points, including 20 in the second half, in an 82-69 win over second-place UT Arlington. She went 8 of 9 from the free throw line in the second half, including seven in a row in the fourth quarter, finishing the week 15 of 16 (93%).Â
Winners of 22 straight, the Lopes head to Riverside, California, to take on California Baptist on Saturday at 2 p.m. (Phoenix time). GCU won the first meeting in Phoenix, 84-55, on Feb. 8.
