Lopes face Ducks for 3rd straight season, seek 1st win

The Grand Canyon women's basketball team heads to Big Ten opponent Oregon for the second straight season Tuesday evening. Live action can be found on the Big Ten Network Plus with play-by-play radio on GCU Radio Network.

AT A GLANCE

The Lopes enter Eugene, Oregon, seeking its first win of the season after losses at No. 2 South Carolina and vs. Idaho State at home Saturday.
Sophomore guard Chloe Mann leads GCU with 36 points in two games, scoring 15 against the Gamecocks and 21 against the Bengals, a single-game high of any Lope so far this season. Mann was named Mountain West Newcomer of the Year and put on the Preseason All-Mountain West Team.
GCU ranks third in the Mountain West in free throws made and attempted. The Lopes are knocking down 15 free throws per game, with Mann and graduate guard Ale'jah Douglas combining for 16 of the team's 30 makes.
Senior forward Anisa Jeffries leads the team in rebounding (5.0 per game) and is averaging 9.5 points per contest. Jeffries enters her first season of American collegiate basketball with experience on the Mexico Women's National Team that appeared in the FIBA Women's AmeriCup this summer.
The Lopes rank third in the conference with 6.5 3-pointers made per game. Mann has a team-high six makes from deep, three of which have come via a four-point play.
GCU's 2025-26 nonconference schedule is the toughest in program history, with an average opponent NET of 120 (based on 2024-25), which is 109 spots higher than the average NET over the previous five seasons combined. The Lopes travel to South Carolina, Oregon and Gonzaga this season and face California and UTSA over the Thanksgiving holiday in Frisco, Texas.

THIS GAME

The Lopes' road schedule ramps up early with back-to-back contests away from Phoenix, the first coming Tuesday night in Eugene against the Ducks.
This season marks the third straight that the Lopes and Ducks will meet and the second straight at Matthew Knight Arena. Oregon is 2-0 in the prior contests.
GCU will play its second team ranked top 50 in the final 2024-25 NET rankings. It opened the season at No. 2 South Carolina (No. 2 NET in 2024-25) and goes up against Oregon (No. 41 NET in 2024-25).

SCOUTING OREGON

Oregon will play its third straight home game after back-to-back wins over West Georgia and Montana to open up the season.
The Ducks take care of the ball, averaging eight turnovers per game to rank seventh in the nation. They also hold a 3.06-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio to be sixth best in the country.
Katie Fisco has 15 assists to open the season, putting her eighth in the nation.
Leading scorer Elisa Mevius has 25 points in two games, shooting 57.9% from the floor. Three Ducks have eclipsed 20 points this season.
Oregon has 40 steals in two games, having four players with five or more steals.
The Ducks are 37-15 at home since the 2022-23 season.
