The Grand Canyon women's volleyball team returns home for weekend action against Portland State (7 p.m. Friday), Butler (7 p.m. Saturday) and and a nonconference home finale against Pacific (2 p.m. Sunday).
THINGS TO KNOW
- The last time the Lopes were at home was during opening weekend, when the Lope-A-Palooza crowd was one of five NCAA venues with a crowd of more than 7,000 people this season.
- GCU will face Pacific for the first time, setting up regular meetings to come in the West Coast Conference starting next season. The Tigers are riding a three-game win streak.
- The Lopes have never faced Portland State in Phoenix, but the Vikings won a 2021 five-setter in their last meeting at Portland State.
- Butler leads the Big East with 2.73 blocks per set. Destiny Cherry leads the conference with 1.26 blocks per set.
GCU at the Ram Volleyball Classic
- After two weeks of action, Lopes junior outside hitter Tatum Parrott ranks 17th in the country in attacks per set (12.0), 46th in kills per set (4.2) and 21st in kills (105).
- Senior middle blocker Trista Strasser finished Sunday's match against Colorado State with a team-high 11 kills to match her career high from 2022 in a four-set match for Missouri.
- GCU had a reception percentage of .949 against No. 12 Oregon in the five-set match Saturday.

The Lopes hit the road to face UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton at the Big West/WAC Challenge in Riverside, California, on Sept. 20-21.
