The Grand Canyon cross country team is heading to UC Riverside on Saturday for the second meet of the season.
Â
The Lopes come off good races at the George Kyte Classic in Flagstaff, Arizona, where they were led by sophomore
Jacob Pringle and junior
Abby Scherer.
Â
The UC Riverside course, the Agricultural Operations Course, is known to be mostly flat with some rolling hills. The course also has packed dirt that is watered pre-race to keep the dust from being an issue. GCU is familiar, as it will be running at this course for the fourth time in three years.
Â
The Lopes will have one of the team leaders back with junior
Cannon Angotti running his first race of the season. In addition to Angotti, the men's team will have UC San Diego transfer
Devin Provence competing in his first race in a GCU uniform.
Â
The women's race will begin at 7:15 a.m. with the men's race taking place at 7:50 a.m.
