The Grand Canyon Women's Volleyball director of operations Evan Larson has been promoted to assistant coach.
"I am so excited and thankful to receive this promotion," Larson said. "Although I haven't been at GCU long, I have enjoyed every moment and can't wait to continue my work as an assistant coach for this Lopes team."
In January the NCAA Division I council on approved legislation that transforms the volunteer assistant coach position in all sports into a full-time, paid assistant coach. The votes mean that, starting in July when the NCAA's new fiscal year begins, volleyball coaching staffs will be allowed a head coach and three assistant coaches, all of whom will be allowed to perform sideline coaching and off-campus recruiting.
"I am extremely excited to promote Evan," Lopes head coach
Tim Nollan said. "In this new role she will be able to have a bigger impact on our student athletes. Her experience and passion for the game will help take GCU Volleyball to the next level."
