Grand Canyon looks to put a bow on a perfect four-game homestand, coming off of a series sweep of Utah Tech to host No. 22 Oregon State on Monday at 12 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

WILSON WATCH: With a wild weekend that featured two go-ahead grand slams, GCU junior shortstop Jacob Wilson shot up the program's career leaderboards for RBIs at the Division I level. He tied the record on Sunday with his 142nd RBI and needs one to break the record. Wilson also reached the 200-hit mark for his career and needs 17 more hits to break GCU's D-I career record.
LOPES-BEAVS CONNECTIONS: GCU and Oregon State are meeting for the third consecutive season after not playing since 1994 previously. The Lopes hosted the Beavers for four games in 2021, visited Corvallis for a two-game midweek set in 2022, and host the Beavers again for a single midweek matchup on Monday. Oregon State pitching coach Rich Dorman and performance coach Mike Henriques both were a part of the Lopes program before assuming their current positions.
CENTURY MARK?: Grand Canyon's next victory at GCU Ballpark will mark No. 100. The facility opened in 2018 and the Lopes have averaged 18.8 wins per year (not including 2020). GCU's 99-58 record at GCU Ballpark is different than its 1,408-676 mark at Brazell Field, a playing surface that has remained in place since 1962.

SCOUTING

Oregon State is the West Coast's most successful program of the last 20 years, winning national championships in 2006, 2007 and 2018. The three titles were won under legendary head coach Pat Casey who has handed the torch to Oregon State alumnus Mitch Canham who is now in his fourth season leading the program.

Like the Lopes, the Beavers are a reigning NCAA Tournament participant. Oregon State hosted the Corvallis Regional and Super Regional, falling in a winner-take-all super regional championship to Auburn last year.

Oregon State is coming off of back-to-back weekend series against ranked teams, sweeping aside USC at home before dropping two of three to Arizona State. At 11-10, Oregon State is in sixth place in the Pac-12 standings.

Under Dorman, the strength of the Beavers is their pitching. Oregon State featured the nation's No. 2 earned run average prior to the Arizona State series. The Beavers were in the bottom half of teams nationally with a .266 batting average.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Lopes play 11 of their next 12 games on the road. A four-game weekend against Long Beach State and Nevada awaits the Lopes in Reno, Nevada, beginning on Friday at 3 p.m.
