The Grand Canyon women's tennis team got back in the win column with a 7-0 shutout over Stephen F. Austin at the GCU Tennis Facility on Friday.

It was an all-around team performance as the Lopes took the doubles point with wins on the top two courts before winning all six courts in singles.

Doubles went to the Lopes with wins at courts one and two. Senior
Natasha Puehse and junior
Santa Strombacha started the match with a quick 6-2 win to record their team leading 11th win of the season. The 1-0 lead was clinched by freshman
Anali Kocevar and graduate
Madeline Lamoreaux with a gritty 6-4 win that was close throughout.

Stephen F. Austin (9-9, 1-3 WAC) picked up a win at court three over GCU's
Valentina Del Marco and
Dania Deaifi 7-6 in nearly an hour-long match.

GCU quickly took control of singles picking up the first sets on all six courts. Deaifi was the first to finish the GCU freshman controlled her match from start to finish winning 6-1, 6-0. Puehse and Lamoreaux followed soon after with a pair of straight set wins to clinch the team win at 4-0.

Strombacha extended the lead with a 6-2, 6-2 win at court two for her 14th win of the season. GCU cleaned up the other two courts in three sets with Kocevar and Del Marco outlasting their opponents at courts four and six.

The Lopes will be back in action on Sunday in their final home match of the season. Puehse and Lamoreaux will be honored on their Senior Day before GCU takes on Sam Houston at 11 a.m.
