EUGENE, Ore. – The Grand Canyon men's golf team completed play in the Duck Invitational at the Eugene Country Club Tuesday, finishing 11th out of 14 teams.
Host school Oregon won the tournament at -2, followed by Oregon State at +5 and Colorado State at +17. The field included five teams in the top 85 via Golfstat as GCU totaled +50 for the tournament.
Among the 14-team field, GCU had the fourth most pars at 165. Both junior
Nicky Kling and sophomore
Sam Murphy placed best for the Lopes in a tie for 37th place at +12. The duo combined for 11 birdies as Murphy had the best third round score on the team at even par.

Matthew Braley (T-41st/+13), junior
Tommaso Zorzetto (T-50th/+15) and sophomore
Josh McCabe (T-77th/+26) rounded out the results for the Lopes.
The Lopes have two regular season tournaments left, with the first beginning Monday, April 3 at the Cowboy Classic at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz.

The Grand Canyon men's golf team completed the first round and played 15 holes of the second round of the Duck Invitational before weather and darkness halted play Monday evening.
Oregon is hosting the 33rd annual Duck Invitational, which is being held at the Eugene Country Club. In a tough field of play that includes five teams in Golfstat's top 85, GCU is in 13th place at 32 over par.
Braley finished best for the Lopes at 6 over par overall and was 1 over par in his second round when play was suspended. He jumped 23 spots from his first-round finish and is in a tie for 34th place. Behind him are Zorzetto and Kling, who are tied for 50th at 8 over par.
Murphy (10 over par, tied for 57th) and McCabe (16 over par, tied for 75th) round out the five Lopes competing.
For the tournament, GCU is fourth out of the 14 competing schools in par-3 scoring average with a 3.27 average score. Host school Oregon leads the field at 1 over par overall while Colorado State is second 8 over park and Oregon State is third at 12 over par.
Barring weather delays, the second round will resume Tuesday and be followed by the third round.
