3 THINGS TO KNOW
- GIANNI POW: Redshirt junior Camden Gianni was named the MPSF Offensive Player of the Week after his performance against Princeton. Gianni became the fourth Lope to earn MPSF weekly honors this season after leading the Lopes with 25 kills on .404 hitting with six aces. Gianni has recorded a service ace in eight straight matches and he leads the Lopes with 30 aces this season in 51 sets played.
- 20 WIN SEASON: The 2023 magical season continued for the Lopes last week when they reached the 20-win milestone for the first time in program history. The Lopes are the only team in the country with just one loss this year and they lead the country with a .952 win percentage. GCU and UCLA are the first two programs to reach the 20-win mark this year. The previous highest win total for the Lopes was 19 back in 2017.
- FINAL STRETCH BEGINS: With just six matches remaining in the regular season the Lopes enter the final stretch before the MPSF Championship begins. After hosting Concordia the No. 5 Lopes will host No. 3 UCLA in a meeting of the top two teams in the conference on March 31 and April 1. The regular season will conclude at Stanford on April 7 and 8. GCU will travel back to Stanford two weeks later for the MPSF Championship beginning on April 19 through April 22.

As a team CUI is just hitting .211 with senior opposite Uriel Batista as the top offensive weapon with 222 kills and 4.76 points per set. Against BYU on Feb. 25 Batista had 32 kills on 64 attempts.
