Lopes begin 2-day Ram Classic on Monday morning

The Grand Canyon women's golf team is set to compete in the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colorado, beginning Monday morning and concluding Tuesday afternoon.

GCU finished seventh out of 19 teams in the Coeur d'Alene (Idaho) Collegiate Invitational last week. Lopes junior Constanza Guerrero tied for 31st place with a three-day, 7-over scorecard. Freshman teammate Ryan Flynn, who competed in her first collegiate event in Idaho, placed right behind Guerrero with an 8-over tournament score. Flynn was one of 20 golfers to finish under par during Monday's second round.

The Lopes will have the same lineup as the Coeur d'Alene outing, as juniors Becca Tschetter and Lani Luafalealo and senior Carmen Belmonte will also be competing this week.

The tournament will be held at the Ptarmigan Country Club and begin at 9 a.m. both days.
