Pair of Lopes teams earn academic team awards

GCU women's volleyball, beach volleyball programs receive recognition
The Grand Canyon women's volleyball and beach volleyball programs each received a 2021-22 Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
GCU is one of 215 Division I programs to be recognized, marking its sixth consecutive season on the list of teams that achieved a 3.3 team GPA or better. The women's volleyball team, led by head coach Tim Nollan, earned a cumulative team GPA of 3.57 in the 2021-22 academic year.
Lopes beach volleyball, led by head coach Kristen Rohr, also earned its sixth consecutive recognition for the AVCA Team Academic Award. GCU earned a combined 3.61 GPA for the 2021-22 academic year, making the Lopes one of the 54 collegiate beach programs to receive the honor.
