Hansen, Navas named National Pair of the Week

Lopes duo earns honors after 5-0 weekend on Court No. 2
Grand Canyon beach volleyball sophomores Allison Hansen and Allanis Navas were named the AVCA/CBVB National Pair of the Week on Monday.
GCU's No. 2 pair defeated four top-20 teams, including No. 13 Georgia State, No. 11 FAU, No. 5 LSU and No. 20 Tulane at the March to May tournament in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Hansena and Navas also took down UAB to finish the weekend 5-0 but were unable to complete their match against No. 4 Florida State due to a "play to decision" result when the dual was clinched by the Seminoles.
The Lopes finished the weekend with a 4-2 record with dual wins over Georgia State, FAU, UAB and Tulane. GCU's two losses came against No. 4 Florida State and No. 5 LSU.
Hansen and Navas moved their record to 13-2 this season on Court No. 2.
Hansen, Navas and the Lopes will head crosstown to Arizona State for duals against the Sun Devils and Washington on Thursday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. ASU and Washington are receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll's top 20
